Welcome to Dunham

A little bit of countryside, just down the road.

Dunham Apples is a family orchard at Boundary Farm in Dunham Massey. We grow the apples, press the juice and make the cider here, then open the gates so people can come and enjoy it where it's made.

The Apple Barn is the bit most people know, pizza from the wood-fired oven, cider in the sunshine and somewhere to sit amongst the trees. Boots, dogs, kids and muddy bikes all welcome.

The Apple Barn

Come hungry. Stay a while.

Wood-fired pizza, cider and juice from the farm, decent coffee and cake for the people who've walked or cycled here. Sit outside amongst the apple trees and let the afternoon get away from you.

Every apple we use is grown here at Boundary Farm. They're picked down the row, pressed in the yard and turned into cider and juice on the same patch of Cheshire they came from.

Generations of Dunham

The Hewitts have farmed here since 1938.

Kenneth and Eleanor Hewitt took on Boundary Farm in 1938, though apples have been associated with this ground since the mid-1800s. Alan Hewitt grew the apple side of the farm and, in 2008, its juice production.

Cider apple varieties went in around 2010, the first cider was fermented in 2012, and the Apple Barn opened in July 2021. Chris and Alison Hewitt run it today.
